Dear host family, my name is Gabriele, I'm 21 years old and I'm brazilian. I come from a humble and united family, which has always taught me respect and love for others, and especially chasing my dreams and goals and certainly giving an au pair is one of them.
-My personality:
I was always a shy and studious girl, I never failed school and I finished high school very early. However, I was always independent and over the years I became less shy too. I am a very family person and I always try to do my best for those I love. I grew up surrounded by children and I have many nephews, which made my love for these little ones grow even more.
-My family and friends:
I come from a very large family: each of my parents has 8 siblings, which gives me a multitude of uncles and cousins. I have 2 sisters and 1 brother, which made me have 5 nephews that I love more than anything. My parents have been married for almost 30 years, and they are my biggest inspirations in life.
I have few friends, but the ones I have are really quality ones and I trust them with my eyes closed. I have a very good boyfriend for me, who supports me in all my dreams and choices.
-My education:
Well, I finished high school when I was 16 and it was my dream to go to college forever. Today I am able to make this dream come true, as I am in my third year studying nursing. I hope to be able to be an aupair during or after finishing my graduation, which is very important to me, but I am also looking for new opportunities and life experiences.
-What I do in my free time:
I love reading and watching, my favorite saga in life is Harry Potter and I've lost count of how many times I read and watched all the movies. I really enjoy listening to music, I also like going out with friends and partying, but I also really value being at home and having quieter moments. I like going to the beach and playing cards and dominoes, I also like to work out and I'm interested in learning new sports.
- My experience with kids:
I have over 2000 proven hours with children of all ages. I took care of babies up to pre-teens.
In addition to all this experience caring for and teaching children, I still have my personal experience because I have 5 nephews and that's why I've always lived surrounded by children.
I really like to exercise my children's creativity with collage activities, crafts, drawings and outdoor games.
When we dance we also have a lot of fun, or when we go to the beach.
I am always very patient and understanding with them, I try to be sensitive to their feelings and understand that they will not always know how to deal with these feelings.
-My language skills:
As I am Brazilian my mother tongue is Portuguese, but I have had contact with English since a very early age and I have always been very interested in learning. Today I can say that I have an intermediate level to read and understand English, and maybe a little more difficulty in speaking, but this is also one of the goals of this exchange: to learn as much as I can.
-My motivation:
I always wanted to live in other countries and this desire grew with me seeing some of my family members who live abroad and have a life that I admire a lot. I never had the opportunity to leave my country, but now I'm chasing it and what motivates me is knowing that there is a world of opportunities waiting for me out there and I really want to take advantage of them.
-My expectations:
I hope I can be part of your family and exchange very good experiences. I can't wait to meet the kids who will win my heart and teach me a lot too. I hope to achieve fluency in another language and I also hope to be able to open doors for my life, for those who know how to give a better life to my family.
-Other important information:
I am fully vaccinated against Covid 19. I have no prejudices and I don't mind living with smokers or single parents. I don't have allergies and I love animals. I don't have a driver's license.
